Of course this has been said MTX for subs and amps And alpine for Decks between these two choices, but... If I could choose, I would go with a Audiobahn sub, Hifonics amp, and Pioneer Head Unit I have this setup and it hits, and my speakers have amazing clarity with my head unit, My System: Audiobahn AW1205N Subwoofer, Hifonics Brutus Bxi1206D amp, Pioneer DEH-7800MP Head unit, and Audiobahn V-Series speakers.

Alpine has always been a verry top of the line audio suplier, and their type R subs and componet speakers are better than any thing that mtx has to to offer. Well that is exept for the JACK HAMMER, but who would you be kidding to try and get that. Personally I would go with Aufiobahn som people realy dislike this brand but I think alot of people pay full price for it to. If you find most sites on the internet sell Audiobahn at half price all the time, ao you can run more power than Alpine or fosgate for less.
but if you do decide to go with MTX stay away from road thunders, go with terminaters, RFLs or 9500s, there their only speakers worth the time of day.

Alpine has the best products at any price, but for MTX, you get what you pay for, meaning that if you want the best, the price is high. I had two 12" RT series subs from MTX that i paid about $80/each, they sucked. My friend has one alpine sub that beat both of my MTX subs. I recommend pioneer, i switched my entire car system to pioneer and it sounds great. Good luck!

It depends... if you are going for head units, separates or equalization go with Alpine.
If you are going for subs or amps, MTX, definitely.
