Also, if you are playing mp3's (or a similar format) and you are doing a load of stuff in the background this can happen. It is particularly bad if you have a low spec CPU.

hmm. Try removing Windows Media Player and re-installing. Or go to Microsofts website and download the updates.

Unistall Windows Media Player. I find that iTunes is a much better player. It is more user friendly and it is easier to burn, rip, sync, and make playlists.

give your player a good cleaning with can air or you can use a cleaning disc
