It smells bad, I know...Like an atomic bomb just dropped in your living room, right.

Common causes to this:
-eating too fast. When dogs eat too fast, they actually swallow in air, which goes to the intestines very quickly
-food that are known to cause "the bomb." Foods that we know like broccoli, cauliflower, beans etc.
-and the last culprit can actually be the food that you're feeding. You said that it's dog food combine with little meat, right. Well, it may not be the meat, however, it can be the dog food. Poor quality dog food can result in having a "farty" dog.

Tips to help diminish your dog from dropping "the bomb" :
-instead of feeding your dog 1-2 portion of food/day, divide the daily ration into smaller portions & feed the dog more frequently
-feed your dog in a quiet comfortable area. Sounds strange, I know. But sometimes a dog eats quickly out of fear that his/her food will be taken away
-exercise the dog more frequently to stimulate the intestines
-most importantly, choose premium brand of dog food that is highly digestable

If you're buying food from the supermarket, Costco, big chain pet stores, you're bound to have a farting dog. These food may be cheap, however, they're produced in bulk & the quality is very poor. Actually, not only is the quality poor, but the ingredients are somewhat mysterious. Sure it can say "real grade chicken(meat etc), but it's not really "real." And if you see the word "by-product," stay away. Pretty much, if you won't eat it yourself, then, don't feed this to your four-legged friend.

Here is a link to some high quality, premium dog food brand:

Hope this helps.....rid of your "air out of bike tire" sound coming from your dog.

Good luck!

It IS the food. Adding meat to her food to get her to eat is out of control. Are you telling me that if you didn't put the meat in, she would starve to death? Let her skip a few meals until she can't stand it anymore. She has you very well trained. Ask your vet about possible dog foods to address the gas problem, and start being the owner, not the pet.

It very well could be the food. Some dogs can't process some foods well and it will give them excess gas. This is particularly true of foods that contain corn, wheat, soy, beet pulp and sometimes beef, turkey, fish & duck.

try charcoal dog biscuits, the black ones, if that does'nt work then try changing the food your giving her, i found that Butchers
tinned dogfood with tripe worked for my dog.
Introduce it a bit at a time to her normal food till she's having just the Butchers with a handfull of mixer biscuit.
Can't promise it'll work but hey, it's worth a go!!.
By the way, the butchers smells pretty bad too!!. good luck!

try a DIFFERENT high quality food...good dog food is good but it just may not agree with her. be sure too you're not giving people treats! If that doesn;t work call your vet but be prepared to accept the fact that your dog may just be the gassy ttype!
