ok so recently, ive been considering plastic surgery. a tummy tuck. no matter how much i work out, i cannot seem to loose my little belly. its very annoying. i diet & exercise, but nothing seems to work. i feel like its holding me back from having the body i want. so i was wondering, if any of you have ever had the procedure done, & was it super painful, i expect pain, but i was wondering how bad. & was it worth it?
only serious answers please!

Hi! I just had a tummy tuck and hip liposuction done last Tuesday (in Connecticut....not INDIA!) I had a twin pregnancy 3 years ago and had over stretched my stomach so much that ALL of my doctor's agreed that diet and exercise would not get rid of it because it had loss its "elasticity."
To answer your questions: I had a GREAT procedure...less than 3 hours, and it really was not that painful. What hurt the most was my BACK because you will need to be "hunched over" for a while and that puts strain on your back. Naturally, the doctor's give you pain meds, too.
You will probably have 2 "drains" put in you (to help remove the excess fluid your body produces post-surgery) that will come out about a week after the surgery, you will have to wear a "girdle" thing for several weeks, and you should probably plan on not working for a solid 2 or 3 weeks. You will need help at home as well.
Overall, I have had a great recovery and my doctor is amazed at how well I have been doing and how "NOT hunched over" I am already. Your recovery rate depends on your level of health and fitness before the surgery, so think about that. I really think the pain was not bad at all...but everyone is different.
Was it worth it? OH YES!!!!!! My stomach is FLAT! And I still have swelling! So I can't wait to see the FINAL result! It is expensive, though, but I was able to finance it through Capital One Health Care Finance, so look into it too. It sounds like you may not need as "much" removed as I needed, so it will probably be cheaper for you.
Good luck!

Abdominoplasty is big surgery. "Tummy tuck" sounds like it's just a few stitches here and there, but it's much more than that.
The surgeon cuts you from hip to hip, and up toward your belly button. All the skin and fat is lifted up from the fascia (tough layer that holds your guts in). The fascia is then made tighter by sewing little pleats into it. Then the skin/fat is pulled down and the extra is cut off. Your belly button is down to your pubic bone by this point, so it is cut out and repositioned from the inside to be in the correct spot.
Then all the skin has to be sewn back together. Sometimes you have a scar going from the pubis to the belly button, sometimes not, it all depends on your body.
The surgeon I work with uses a pain pump that infuses numbing medicine under the skin for a few days, so the pain isn't too terrible. It's called an On-Q pump - if you have the procedure, ask for it. He also puts in 2 drains that are there for a few days so that a collection of blood or fluid doesn't form under the skin.
The people I know who have had the procedure done have been very happy with the results.
Good luck to you!

Get tummy tuck surgery in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.
I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible.
As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
my cousin got her breast implants and tummy tuck surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare.she is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise fore this forerunners healthcare company.i personally have seen the wondeful results and am particularly impressed with the kind of quality care she got from this company.

Tummies are cute. Don't focus on your flaws, love your body. Surgery is too risky.
