Everyone is entitled to his or her own beliefs or the absence of any beliefs. Jokes are subjective. Therefore, whether or not one can appreciate a joke or any other kind of statement, often depends upon many factors. Ideas can be influenced by things other than "religious doctrines". For example, anyone can think outside of what a religion teaches but may not like the idea that comes with that thought because of some observation, event or scientific finding completely unrelated to religion (or the absence of religion.)

I am a Fundamental Christian, in that I accept the Holy Bible as being the irrefutable Word of God. I also have a great sense of humor, and a sharp and inquisitive mind.

Now, I haven't seen any of your humor other than that odious offering you posted. So far, you're not funny. But I bust a gut with off-the-wall comedians that are in totally different religious and political camps.

Show me something funny, or come up with a new attack.

Gee, I didn't see anyone who identified themselves as fundamental Christians who hated the joke in your post. Some Christians actually liked it...does that mean they aren't fundamentalist?

As a fundamentalist myself, I've used that joke, or variations of it for years. It's a hoot! Even more so when I use my ex instead of Christian or whatever. (That's 'cause more people identify with having an ex these days...)

Anyway, based on your extremist viewpoint about fundies not being free-thinkers and not appreciating your humor, I cannot agree with you. It was too biased. If you had said, "Why can't people appreciate a good joke?" I might've sympathized.

Someone obviously told you that, and you must not know any. Well - there are some - that I would agree with you on, but don't take them as an example of God. Get to know Him for yourself. Most Christians are among the freeist thinking people I know. And even God has a sense of humor, I am sure. He created humans and gave them a free will. I'll bet He gets a good laugh everyday. Sitting up there watching them scurry about, looking for answers as to whether He exists or not, when it's all right before their eyes, His Creation. I'll bet He really laughs when they come to the conclusion that He doesn't. I'll bet He turns to Jesus, and says "Pinch me once -- Ok, just checking..." And they both roll in laughter.
Ok, so He doesn't have to prove anything, but He doesn't laugh when people disbelieve Him. He wants everyone to get to share in heaven. So - of course He looks for someone like you to ask a question like yours, giving someone like me an opportunity to share Him. Hope you talk to Him soon. I'm sure if you do, you will find that there is a joy in the journey, and a life we can love on the way, there is wildness and wonder to life and freedom for all those who obey." -- words of a song by Michael Card.
See you in heaven?

P.S. As for your example question -- It would depend on what he asked. If he asks the right questions, he just might be on the right track. But then again, you said he was in the woods. Are trees talking nowadays? Really though, I bet if a tree falls on him, he will have no problem calling "Oh, God help me!!" on his way to the ground. Just so you know-- there are no atheist in hell.

Well, your question certainly is a joke. What makes you think your premise "Fundamental Christians are unable to think freely" has any validity? How do you define "Fundamental Christians"? How do you know "they" are "unable to think freely"? And what makes you think "they can't appreciate a joke"?

I for one certainly think your question is laughable.

Don't be too concerned. America is a great country. You have the right to say almost anything, no matter how ignorant.

Is this a joke or isn't this.

The question you refer to is obviously a joke, however this one can be mistaken for a put down. Either way I can do the same thing you did in your other question right back at you.

If historians found dinosuar crap fossils that resembled a human would Athiest tell Christians that's proof of Evolution.

Ha Ha lol wheres your sence of humor now.

I suppose I ought to do some penance or something, cuz I'm laughing my cute li'l butt off, here.

And I'm a Christian (although I don't think I'm a "fundie". I don't support Bush, and I don't watch TBN).

Do you suppose God will ever be able to forgive me?

I have found that fundamentalist Christians seemed opposed to jokes at their religion's expense. I call them...Jesus Crispies.
