My sons and I say a prayer everytime a fire truck, police car, or ambulance pass by us within hearing and have the siren sounding. We pray for those in danger or illnes. I was just wondering if Protestants had any of the same practices.

Yes I am a Catholic. Long ago we read "Little Acts of Grace." I can't pass a Catholic Church without acknowledging Christ present in the tabernacle.

I thought you were a Catholic! My first grade nun taught us to say a little prayer every time we heard a siren. I didn't know others did that!

Love ya love ya love ya!

That's a great idea, praying for people who might be in trouble everytime I hear a siren!

By the way, I'm Catholic too. Converted over from being a Jehovah's Witness. I love the Holy Eucharist with everything that I am, and cross myself everytime I pass a Catholic Church. I love it that I can visit the Lord anytime I want too and pray to Him and sit next to Him.

Being Catholic rocks! LOL!

God bless,

Danny

Well, I am catholic, but I hang out with tons of protestants and we all do this too. I usually pray "in the Spirit" for the emergency vehicles to allow the Holy Spirit to pinpoint the exact need. I have taught my children this too-----<@----<@

Yes we do. We say prayers when we see news stories about the children in the Sudan, when we hear that someone dies we pray for comfort to the family who lost them, when we hear that someone had a baby we ask for blessing for its health. As we walk through cemetaries or by monuments for our veterans, we praise God for their bravery, courage and family's sacrifice. Life is a prayerful occasion minute by minute if you allow your heart to let it be, even if you are a protestant, jew, muslim, hindu, buddhist, etc. I'm praying for you right now gratefullly in that your question may have allowed God to touch someone's heart in a way that neither of us intended. Bless you!
