the heat created by the air conditioners cooling the cars makes the tunnels ridiculously hot. that phenomenon is also why the city itself is so hot in the summer.
air conditioners put off a lot of heat.

You're in newer tunnels. The old IRT and BMT lines have a different liner material that allows heat to escape in the summer and retains heat in the winter. Any tunnels built after the 50's ( I think ) have a concrete liner.

Because the The MTA is cheap and the NYC subway is sooo old its needs a underground makeover big time.and being underground during the hot *** weather is an urban myth its hotter underground than it is outside its a ******* sauna its a 100 degrees underground.

human beings think of going green is cool as a results of fact they are making a distinction interior the international. because in the statins, there si no real productive way for heat to escape, which is why you sometimes see those big orange and white cones in the streets with the steam spewing out of them. The trains themselves, however, are air conditioned.
