How old is your daughter? If she has reached puberty, the I would say it's normal. As to what should you do...nothing. Be thankful that she isn't having sex yet and that she isn't afraid to explore her own body either.
P.S. It's great that she can confide in you. I'd say you guys have a pretty good relationship if she call tell you things like this.

It is both normal (at any age..I've witnessed my 2 year olds doing it) and healthy. (think of it as safe sex).
It's good for her mental health and she will learn things about her body she will need later in life (when she is sexualy active). It WILL NOT make her be sexually active before her time.
Try not to put a stigma on what is a very natural process. Almost everyone masturbates, some just feel guilty and deny it.

Yes. Its normal for kids to masterbate and healthy if not taken to extremes. Id let her know that its ok to do but that she should be discreet about it so as not to offend anyone and/or make others uncomfortable who might not be so openminded and/or understanding. Id also make sure that she's not stimulating herself in a way that might hurt her physicaly. Thank you for not freaking out about stuff like that. Kids need parents to be understanding about these things.

I think anybody that says they don't is either lying or they just don't know what they are missing. Some children do it from an earlier age than others. I think you should tell her that there is nothing wrong with her doing it and that there is nothing abnormal about it. I don't think you should say anything to her that would make her ashamed of herself. Sounds like she is open to talking to you and that is the most important thing you can have with your child. You don't want her to be afraid to come to you and talk to you about anything

yes its normal almost everyone masturbates boys girls most people don't admit it so you also have a brave daughter to admit it especially to you but that can sometimes lead on to bigger things but there is nothing you can do shell do it at night before she goes to sleep or whatever but it is perfectly normal

Of course it's normal. Admitting it to your mom is probably not so common. And unless you are a member of a religion that prohibits it, there's nothing wrong with it. It's a natural part of growing up.

Well she would not be normal if she did not. All Children Experiment with some type of sex. Just be happy it is not with a boy. Try asking Dr Ruth. She is one of the best people to ask

Masturbating is normal. If you've read the many past questions about masturbating , they all say that its completely normal. I'm kinda in shock that she admitted it to you, cause usually people keep that in their own private matters. There is nothing you can do about it, maybe talk to her about whatever you are concerned about, just keep in mind that its normal.
