to try to be "COOL". They think they are cool because they drink. I drink, smoke weed,do coke here and there and I do not act like those stupid "alcohol only" kids. They piss me off.

My Mom was an alcoholic so I didn't want to touch the stuff for ages. But when I turned older and my friends were beginning to drink more, I went the same way as my Mom. Still attempting to get over it now... Main reason why I drink (15 year old) because I'm addicted... Main reason I began drinking... Peer Pressure

Peer pressure is part of it. Some have grown up in homes where drinking is a regular thing, as well. Teenagers experiment with a lot of things - we just need to hope that they do not harm themselves in the process.

For social fun. The socially insufficient have an excuse for saying and doing things that are normally considered embarrasing. While drunk, everyone thinks its funny, rather than embarassing. I'm so socially awkward, that I didn't make any friends until I started drinking.

because they think theyre cool since they can "get away with it"
cool points.
all that type of stuff.
if they realized how bad (immature) it looks to others when they were younger, maybe it wouldnt happen.
i really dont see the point.
but the media brings it up as an in thing to do. so i think society is partially to blame. and certain parents.

one they think it's cool, 2 cause they are told not to until they are 21, and 3 it's really the only easy thing they can get their hands on that if they get caught it's not a major crime..

drinking has nothing to do with peer preassure...because theyre restricted to do it so they start doing it...once they start doing it they realize that drinking is fun...so since its fun they keep doing it

Because of the rest of them do.
It makes them feel good.
And, sometimes it tastes good.
Other times it doesn't.
And at others, their parents do, and they follow them.
