My canon eos rebel II (film) has a flash(quantray-qtb-9500a) why will it not work with canon rebel xt digital?

The flash works fine with the film. The hot shoes are the same. I was told it would work if it worked on film. Is it a camera setting?

It's the same hotshoe with the same connection. There could be a problem with the digi. You might consider having it serviced or exchanged.

it should work! but not at a high sync speed!! like Rebel XT has a sync speed of 1/200th! try the different speed!! put it on automatic! and fire it!
