A valid observation.
Some Christians are so terrified of using their 'God'-given logic.

for God so loved the world that He gave his only Son to redeem it. It means that God sent His Son (which is a different person, so He wouldn't be Myself as you say) to free the world not to appease His anger. sorry you misunderstood the quote...:)

The Christian God wasn't the only one to sacrifice himself for the world. Osiris and Gilgamesh, just to name a few, did the exact same thing.

that quote only works if you don't understand that Jesus was not God, He had the authority of God as God's son but He was a seperate being.
