Jesus would help the intellectually challenged, so I guess he would support Bush.

Why do you ask this question? What, exactly, do you mean by "supporter"? During Jesus' ministry, he purposely was NOT political. I think you're asking the wrong question. I think you want to know if Jesus would think that President Bush is making morally and ethically good decisions in his governing the civil country of the United States. God puts all civil rulers, good and bad, in place for a purpose. Sometimes they accomplish good, more often than not, they don't. Then someone new comes in and changes things -- and it's not necessarily better than the ruler before him.

If you're whipped up about Bush, relax. Someone new will be in place in 2009 and they will probably be no better or worse than Bush. Each leader has their triumphs and failings. Deal with and get on with your own life!

That is the funniest question I have seen posted here. Jesus, Bush, Jesus, Bush...sorry I just don't see the connection. I'd pay to see them in the same room just to see the look on Bush's face when Jesus started questioning him. Talk about the press conference from Hell. That's a SNL sketch just waiting to happen. Jesus, Bush...that really is funny.

NO!!!

Jesus was very politically minded, and resented the economic imprisonment bestowed on the Jews by the Romans and Pharasees through huge taxes. He saw this oppression, and if alive today would see the imperilistic Roman-like colonialism Bush is bestowing on the people of the middle east, and work, as he did for the poor jews, to help the oppressed people of the middle east.

Jesus as the son of God, loves everyone, even the dumb ones. I don't think He would agree with most of the things Bush believes. For example, Jesus would never condone or tolerate war or people who lead others into war in the name of the Lord. He would not approve of using power to your own gain, or would not approve of people trying to divide others just for their own advantage. He can forgive stupidity, but I don't think he could support pure Evil. I don't know in which category does Bush belong to. It is hard to tell.

Yeshua is above all that petty stuff. Politics is about this world, He was about the heavenly kingdom.

No, he would not support President Bush. Or any other President for that matter.

Friend, maybe. Supporter no.

There are no parts of the Bush Political platform that are congruent with the teachings of Jesus Christ, of Nazareth.

Jesus did make friends with those who were/are sinners, of which Bush is one. OTOH, Jesus disassociated himself from those that used, and abused political, religious, or economic power.

I believe it was God who said: "thou shalt not kill." Didn't stop Bush from executing Carla Faye Tucker. He had no compassion or mercy for her at all, even thought our justice system is supposed to be justice tempered with mercy.

It doesn't seem to bother him to send our young men and women off to a God-forsaken place like Iraq to fight and die so that people who despise us can vote, all so he and his oil buddies have access to all that mideastern oil.

What do you think? You think Jesus approves of a demogogue like Bush? History has seen his type over and over again. And it is ALWAYS the people who suffer. Personally I think the American electorate has lost it's collective mind.

I would like to think that he would not, as many of President Bush's actions go against what I understand of Christ's teachings. However, we the people in our infinite wisdom elected him.....(sarcasm, anyone?)
