The long distance relationship is the hardest because you are not able to be with that person during your loneliest and darkest moments. He/she(depending on whether or not you are male or female) can not be there to share you strifes, your joys, your sorrows, your concerns, or anything else. When something good or even something bad happens, it is most likely that that person is one of the last to know, as they are not there when it happens. They can not be there in person to comfort you when things turn rough, and face it; hearing their voice over the phone trying to comfort you is not the same as being in their arms and having a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes, you just want to hang out; you can not do that with the person who is a long distance from you. You do not get to see them for great lengths of time, and they or you can not always call one another because of other obligations, and therefore you do not always get to see how they are feeling, how their day went, or anything else. All of this and more builds and plays with the emotion until it becomes even harder and harder to the point that you want to scream, but it would do no good as there is no one to hear your screams............. But the hardness and the strife of the LDR can pay off greatly in the end; if things work out, your relationship will be a great deal stronger than that of those with local relationships because you have built up a great deal of communication, trust, faith in one another, etc. Good luck in your LDR, and believe me; i know that it is hard. I enter mine on August 23 when my fiancee leaves me to go to Washington State, a great distance from where i am, and August is rolling up fast.......... =(

It takes a lot of trust and love for a long distance relationship to work. My bf is in Iraq and it is so hard to be apart. But with faith, hope, and love it is possible.

mostly trust and self security. They are always difficult as I wa in one for a year. She was from Spain and I am frim California.
Also, the voice is nice, but there is so much said in the eyes and body language that you lack in a long distance relationship.
Send him apicture of you with your toung out. It will say a lot

distance, temptation, lack of communication, missing each other, missing out on each others lives, new people, new interests, not being able to actually see each other and spend time together...all of the things you miss out on....

you get used to the person not being around, no physical contact.
just like when you break up with someone, you don't talk to them to get over and forget them. same thing happens, but not intentionally
