Okay, slow your roll. Not all Americans feel that way. Most just don't know that the little things they do can effect the future. Many are just uneducated. Others think that nothing will make a difference because too few people will jump in and help. But, with the proper motivation people will come together. I mean, look at the outpouring of support during natural disasters. People care, they just don't always know what to care about.

As one of those lazy lard asses:
I just replaced my heat pump system with a new SEER 13 system.
Our newest car gets 30% better mileage than the last one.
We do not use the wood burning fireplace because it increases the heating bill in the winter. That's right if you have your furnace on when you are using the fireplace, it will run more than if you have the fireplace cold and the damper shut.
We try cut down on trips to town. We delay trips until we can do two or three things while we are there.
We have a third of our house closed off and do not heat or air condition it unless needed.
If you note my nick name, I have forgotten more about energy than you will probably ever learn!!

Why have you become so lazy you take for granted what some psuedo scientific group tells you about fossel fuels and global warming with out looking to see if there are any caveats to what they spew. The are many, if you bothered to look beyond the crap on MTV. You remind me of chicken little "the sky is falling." The people responsible for the whole global warming have already admitted that they feel it is ok to exaggerate to promote their Political, Not scientific, agendas. I know it goes against everything you stand for but I challenge you to read the lastest issue of NEwsMax magazine the one with the headline "Al Gore Spins Global Warming." if you can't read the whole article atleast read page 18. It has some interesting quotes by Dr Stephen Schneider.

I am sorry to have to admit it, but there is a direct proportion between energy consumption and prosperity: the less energy, the more poverty and the more unemployment. These are difficult choices. There is no good solution. If you are really serious about this, then stop using your computer and everything else that uses energy, especially those things that use fossil fuels, such as your car.

"probably because they are not taught the values of hard work ethics!"
--yes and the rest of the world is completely different. congratulations idiot.
regarding the question: what are you doing about it? are you sitting on your lazy "a$$" and typing or are you researching ways to be independent from oil (like i'm doing in my chicago office)?
the only thing worse than a conservative is an armchair liberal.
