No I would not disown them I would, however make sure that said Illegal person knew what I thought about their status in this country until they did something about it. I would probably try to inform INS, but we all know how well that works. Now while I'm at it I would like to thank you for this opportunity to explain where I and MANY OTHERS like me stand. I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE BROWN, WHITE, BLACK, PINK, GREEN, PURPLE OR WHATEVER ILLEGAL MEANS ILLEGAL. And you just being here is making it harder on your fellow man. If you live here then you should have to swear an oath of loyalty aka the pledge of allegiance and pay taxes on the money you make and a fee every time you send AMERICAN money to MEXICO thank you and God bless

That depends. If they were a violent criminal like most illegal aliens are, me and several of the other male members of my family would disappear the person into a shallow grave somewhere they would never be heard from again. Whoops, he must have hopped back into mexico, dem illegals are known to do that.
If they weren't, we would obviously hire powerful lawyers to make them legal. Welcome to the family.
The issue with immigration is not some sort of irrational xenophobia. It's about murdering scumbags coming into our country from mexico in large numbers and our natural and reasonable desire to not let that happen.

I married an illegal so that she could get her papers. And, yes, I love her. Dearly.
We are all immigrants, or descended from immigrants. They are a precious resource. Legal or illegal, they are human beings seeking a better life. They deserve our respect, not antipathy.

They wouldn't ask me to break a law or lie for them or support breaking of laws.
No I wouldn't disown them. I just wouldn't do any of the above.

No! I would encourage the person to become legal! If they want to live here they can do so legally. It would be much less stressful long term and the opportunities would be much greater also. I think true love requires wanting the best for that person.

In all honesty, I just don't see that happening. Would I disown them, of course not. Would I be thrilled, probably not.

My family members are more intelligent than to do something like that.
We seriously check out our potential in laws, and they had better be legal citizens of our country.
