How many lo riser,med riser,hi riser,tunnel port,sohc motors did they make and what years ?

NOT ENOUGH ! The hi riser was only built for a couple of years. The SOHC was a crate motor only (ford installed a few in the fomoco sponsored cars but not for the general public) Because the nascar #$^%$#@ said that there was no way it was a streetable motor and it would not qualify. ( ford made the boss 429 mustangs only to qualify for nascar, then the puzzies at nascar added restrictor plates to equal out the field for the weaker manufactures) I could go on for days.

I know the 427 sohc motor was a nascar motor. I think just a year or two they made them and then Ford got out of racing. Real early 70's. Nascar banned this motor I believe, I could be wrong. It was the answer to the hemi. I have seen it in person in a couple of cars at the annual Ford get together at Knott's Berry Farm in Orange County California. They where rated at about 735 hp. Very rare and my guess is less than a thousand where ever made. The drive chain for the OHC's was 12 feet...

the built many 427's, you hace the 427 sohc, very few and rare. 427 fe, built many and not so rare, and the 427 sideoiler, in the 427 cobras, not so many but still out there.
