"Our rule of thumb is to hang all pictures at 57" on center. This is "gallery height" and roughly the average human eye level.

To do this you measure up 57" from the floor (mark here). You want your picture's center - whatever size - over this point, so measure your picture - top to bottom, divide it in half, ...

subtract whatever distance there is between wire and top of frame and then add that number to your 57". That is where you put the pin in.

As far as panel mouldings go, we would just use these to center pictures left to right. As far as 57" on center looking low, everyone hangs their pictures too high, so it seems odd at first. Don't worry, it's correct. "

The majority of people will say "eye level" which is safe and standard. However, you can hang them at any height you wish. Try hanging a series of framed pictures one above the other from the top of the floor molding up! It looks great and interesting-it draws the viewer to examine the picture closely.

don't bother with the chair's,,, no matter the size of the frame set the center of the picture at 5'-5". this is the height of most of the worlds focal point even if the person is 6 ft or greater. I learned this from an architect that designs and builds churches

the perfect place is 1/3 of the way down the picture should be at eye level. with 2//3 of the picture being below eye level. the top of the chairs should have nothing to do with the placement of the picture.

You should be able to view the center of the picture at eye level. Don't let a tall person hang your pictures.

I have found the best way to hang pictures is to have the center of the picture at eye level. They are meant to be looked at so , of course, eye level.

Measure the distance between the pieces on all sides. The grouping should be centered in the space (equally distant from the ceiling and the anchoring piece of furniture). Measure the distances between the pieces carefully and write them down.

The center of the piece should be precisely 59 inches from the floor......in cases of group pieces, the main piece or central piece applies to that rule and the rest are worked around it with no other going higher.

Top of the chairs?-phooey!

Just place it at eye level, or you can center it from side to side wall, however it pleases the eye and doesn't reflect light.
