Im sitting here reading the bible and everywhere I read it seems to me that worship is like spiritual sex. It looks like marriage is the mirror of worship of Jesus and that being with G-d in prayers and worship is like being with your husband but in a spiritual sense...am I right ? Wow....if thats true then I really wouldnt need to be with my bf...I could like really wait for a husband. I know you dont have physical sex with G-d so dont frigging yell at me. OK?

Absolutely :-) God created sex as a picture of his relationship with us, with both the husband AND the wife relating to each other in a way that reflects aspects of how we and God relate (both the man's forceful daring and the woman's mysterious glory were made in His image, and made to be passionate and vibrant). God's passion goes WAY beyond any layer of our being that can be reached by another human--He is an ardent and undeniable lover who wants to pursue AND be pursued, to know and be known on the deepest levels without walls or fear of consequence. And He will never, ever leave you.

I am SO glad you happened upon this idea! Most people have to read books on the subject before they can grasp it. Just a suggestion, if you're interested in further (beautiful!) reading: check out any book by John and/or Stasi Eldredge. The website for Focus on the Family (link below) also has wonderful articles on sex, worship, marriage, etc.

Well I hope your reading more than the bible...Read the Koran (Quran) sometime and you will find spirtual enligtment. I did!! Our concept of worship means to do good sincerely to please God...whatever it may be.... That includes having sex with your husband only NOT your bf. Having sex with bf is a sin and doing it with your husband is reward. This keeps society from having immoral behavior and having random partners. If you look at it dating is cause of many problems including teen pregnacy, date rape, STDs, unprotected sex, abuse (emotional/physical). It is better to be with the man/woman you love and get reward being with him... Just look into Islam and see the balance what is spiritual high and what is wispers from the accursed satan. Don't listen to the media or what other ignorant people have to see...Learn for yourself.

From what you are saying it sounds like you have a calling to become a nun. Just visit your local convent and have a word with the mother and she should be able to advise you.

Don't worry about the lack of real sex, though. If you've ever wondered how nuns manage to go without it, I have a friend who is a nun and she describes feelings of extreme ecstasy that resemble real orgasms to me that she get when in deep prayer or meditation.

Priests don't experience this, however, which is why they are more prone to abuse children.

Good luck.

I think that in worshipping you can reach a state of spiritual enlightenment, so profound that the only thing it can be equated to in the physical plane is the orgasm, which is the ultimate in physical pleasure. I don't know if that's what you mean, but that's my take on it.

You should hear my mom, do her "Oh lord Jesus, oh lord Jesus" chant !!!
It sounds like when someone calls someones name in bed.

One time I went to some Gospel singing thing, at a different church (other than her weird chanting one), some older guy (maybe about 5 or 10+ more than she was).
He was talking to her about god, but he was all into her. His eyes were lighting up, he made a comment about remembering her name. He repeted her name a few times.

I told her later " that guy was flirting with you".
She said "stop it, he a christian who loves the lord"

Whatever, I KNOW A HORNY MAN, WHEN I SEE ONE !

Actually many times in the Bible the Church is called the Bride of Christ. It is very much a passionate type of love. Love and passion are not dirty things. Father Andrew Greeley wrote much about it. Some of the greatest saints of the Catholic Church wrote of this passionate love and view of Christ.

Mystical experience is often the result of intense worship.

More than one mystic has compared the ecstasy of mystical experience with physical intercourse. Physical intercourse being less satisfying on all levels than the mystical experience.

Yes, many mystics throughout history have described mystical experiences as being like sex.

In worship I believe we enter into intimacy with God.

Christ does desire intimacy with you, and the illustration of husband (Christ) and wife (you) is correct... This relationship is not sexual, but it is intimate. Please do wait for a husband, this is the Lord's will for you, and since his will is perfect, it is the very best way to go... it will ALWAYS be worth it. God bless.
