Not to slight Woodbird, but the link he/she provided contains a lot of false information regarding Hepatitis C.

#1 - HCV is NOT highly contagious. Unlike HAV and HBV, the only means of transferring the HCV virus is through blood-to-blood contact - period.

#2 - Hepatitis A & B are curable if diagnosed in the early stages; however, Hepatitis C has NO CURE! Certain genotypes of HCV can go into remission, but the virus remains in the body for life with a good chance of it reawakening to cause more havoc.

I'm adding a link that will answer just about any question regarding HCV from the Centers For Disease Control. I would trust their information more than any website trying to make money from a "miracle cure" for a disease that can't be cured.

HCV is too serious a disease to "play around" with alternate therapies until all other avenues have been exhausted and even then, some homeopathic "cures" can cause more harm than good.

Please be sure you thoroughly research all options available and choose a treatment that has a proven and documented success rate versus a "snake oil" salesman's pitch!

When my husband was diagnosed with HCV, all his friends deserted him because they assumed he had something like HIV or AIDS. They were afraid of "catching" it by just talking to him!

I've been with my husband for over 10 years and I still don't have it. I've bandaged his assorted wounds throughout the years. Thanks to damage caused by HCV, his esophageal varicies ruptured and he almost bled to death (very scary!). I had to scrub blood off the floor, walls and everything else yet I still didn't "catch" the disease.

Incorrect information is worse than no information at all so don't put too much faith in what that other website said.

I've added more links at the bottom for additional information - I think they'll help, too.

Homeopathic remedies can only alleviate some of the symptoms of hep c. There is no research with significant numbers of participants to show that any herbal or glyconutritional remedies do anything to decrease the scarring in the liver (fibrosis) which when progresses causes cirrhosis and can lead to end stage liver disease and/or hepatic cellular carcinoma. A lot of herbal / alternative therapies rely on liver enzyme results as "proof" that the remedy is working. Enzymes fluctuate anyway, and in addition, 40% of people with hep c have liver enzymes within normal limits; that's one of the reasons some people have it so long without it being diagnosed.
After completing treatment, if one remains with an undetectable viral load for a year post treatment, they are most likely not going to relapse unless they are re-exposed to a risk factor. I have been undetectable for 6 years post treatment and consider myself blessed and cured.

While there is no cure for Hepatitis C, there are homeopathic remedies for the symptoms of the disease. If Interferon therapies don't or won't put the virus into remission, it may be worth your while to check into alternative solutions to alleviate the symptoms.

Some people swear by the benefits of taking milk thistle so check into that as well...

I'm adding a link that seems to be a good source of information. Good luck and best wishes! :-)

Yes, go and research olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, and colloidal silver, these are very potent natural anti-virals. I have used them for years on me and my kids without problems and they work great. I used some silver in my nephews eyes when he got pinkeye and it was gone very quick. Do you remember they used to put silver nitrate in babies eyes when they were born? Check them out and decide for yourself, good luck!
