I was Jewish, and still am if you want to take a more ethnic view of the word. I don't know if this is a fair question, if you're looking for deeper meaning in the answer. We start out a certain religion because that's what our parents were. It's not a choice then.

I have been a Catholic in my life, but never bought into the full story. I became an agnostic, but never bought into the full story. I became an atheist, but never bought into the full story. I am very happy where I am now, and it certainly has nothing to do with Christianity. But I do believe in God, not the God you hear so much about...

By order of the prophet we ban that boogie sound. Degenerate the faithful with that crazy Casbah sound, but the Bedouin they brought out the electric kettle drum the local guitar picker got his guitar picking thumb. As soon as the sherif had cleared the square, they began to wail. The shareef don't like it, Rockin' the Casbah

Born again Christian. In states with high rates of born again hellfire and brimstone churches, atheists are all over the place. In states that are looser (like my own California) not so many atheists as there are agnostics.

non-religious, but not necessarily not believing in god
my father was baptized and his family was religious, my mother's family joined a church just so that her brother could be in the Boy Scouts (that's how it was back then) but growing up my family was not religious.
what turned me atheist was other people forcing christianity on me, and dumb people who started wanting to have creationism and abstinence-only sex education taught in schools, and having abortion be illegal. so I read the bible and came to my own conclusions.
I do believe that man needs to not always follow his desires for the good of mankind, but I don't believe that there is some omniscient being watching over us, at least not the "christan god" or that we have to be rewarded (i.e. heaven) for doing good

I think that I have always been atheist and not known it, I mean when you are a child you are so impressionable and naive, don't forget that you aren't as intelligent as most adults are so personally I think everyone usually comes to that decision when they can make up their own mind about most things.

Religion truly gets in the way of what i desire. Why should I feel guilty because someone tells me what I am doing is wrong? i f I want to xyz and others around me want to xyz, then we should be able to do XYZ! Religion and man's laws be damned!
