Regular salt is mined on earth. Sea salt is retrieved through evaporation from ocean water. Sea salt is better because it has no additives.
There is also a sea salt that is called "Moon Salt". It is from Japan and is a salt from the sea that is gathered only during a full moon. It is considered a delicacy and therefore is very pricey.

The main difference between the salts is in their texture. Table salt's fine granules dissolve quickly, making it the preferred salt of bakers. Sea salt possess larger, irregular grains that add a delightful crunch and hit of briny flavor when sprinkled on food at the last minute.
Chemically there is little difference between kitchen salts. All are at least 97 1/2 percent sodium chloride. But there are significant differences in the provenance and processing of these salts.
Table salt is mined from underground salt deposits, and includes a small portion of calcium silicate, an anti-caking agent added to prevent clumping. It possesses very fine crystals and a sharp taste. Because of its fine grain a single teaspoon of table salt contains more salt than a tablespoon of kosher or sea salt.
Sea salt is harvested from evaporated seawater and receives little or no processing, leaving in tact the minerals from the water it came from. These minerals flavor and color the salt slightly. However, because these salts often come at a dear price, it is worth keeping in mind that they lose their unique flavor when cooked or dissolved.

Regular salt is 'mined' from salt deposits. Sea salt is made from purified and evaporated sea water. Sea salt usually tastes better because it has more trace minerals in it, but has no real health benefits as opposed to regular salt.

Regular salt is processed salt treated with chemicals for daily or regular use.
Sea salt is the salt found in raw form from waterbeds, or say it is salt got directly from nature.
Hence sea salt is raw salt which should be consumed in very small quantity otherwise is harmful for health.

One is mined from land ,the other from the sea. Chemicaly I don't believe there is any difference.(When purchased from the super market sea salt is more coarse. Salt is salt. If you have certain medical conditions you should limit your salt intake, but you need some salt.

Sea salt is still salt, you shouldn't use it too much. Sea salt is usually coarser though, and I like it's taste better.

Sea salt has a bigger grain normally. It is rumored to be better for you, but I simply just prefer the taste. I prefer sea salt normaly. Also, it can be used in fish tanks in small quantities to help your fish fight diseases.
