First, your birth certificate wont help. When a child is legally adopted, whether by a step parent or both parents, the original birth certificate is sealed and a new birth certificate is issued listing the adoptive parent/s as the birth parents.

Your best bet is to talk to your parents about it.
You could also talk to other family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles, older cousins), and neighbors of where you lived at the time of your birth.

What things make you wonder if you were adopted?
Many children "wish" they were adopted when things in their family don't go the way they would like.

i think the best way to find out is to confront and ask your parents straight out, communication is important, if you find out on your own you're still going to confront them anyway for not telling you, so just get it over with, besides if you are adopted it doesn't matter who your birth parents are anyway because your real parents are the ones who raised you and are the ones who love you.
