When does school start in your area?

Here in Clark County, Nevada, there is 12 month school. No 3 month summer vacation for the kiddies.

HI down there!
In Washoe County, we have year round and traditional schedules.
In SoCal, where I grew up, I was on year round for elementary and junior high and on traditional for High School (in the 70's and 80's).

Well, I'm not sure what part of Clark County you're from, but in Las Vegas, most of the elementary schools are 12 months, but none of the middle schools or high schools are. They are all 9 month schools, and they start at the end of August. If you were asking what time in the morning school starts, I know that they vary. Elementary schools generally start between 8 and 9, middle schools are generally between 7 and 8, and high schools at 7 (there are a few that start at 8, and the early bird classes generally start at 6 or 7, depending on what time the rest of school starts.) I live in Mississippi (on the Gulf Coast). The teachers go back to school on August 1st and the students return on August 4th. The students will get out the third week of May if we don't have another hurricane.

Harris County (Houston TX)

starts on August 16. and we've been out since May 26th.

i live in Maimi,Florida and we have school for 9 months and 3 months for summer vacation.

i live in the dallas texas area and school is from late august to now early june.

in central NJ we come in aroung early-mid september
