Humans had to realize their own existence (self-recognition) before they could imagine that they were created by another entity (God). Therefore, self-recognition "is to blame" for Religion.
If God exists, then God existed before humans existed (God is the creator of the humans). In that case, Evolution cannot "be blamed for" God.
If God doesn't exist, then God is a product of the human imagination, and Evolution could possibly "be blamed for" God.

There has always been a supreme being, and yes, Evolution is to blame for Religion. See I cannot understand why people separate Church and Science when you would not have one without the other. They both go hand in hand and to say that we just appeared as the Creationism Theory suggest is ridiculous. We had to go through a process in order to get to where we are now, and we are still going through that process, look all around you. There are several different species and breeds of the same animal, but what about humans? There was once many breeds and species of us too, but you know what we did, we did to the other humans what we did to the Dragons, The Do-Do bird, and all the other extinct species in the world, we killed them all because we wanted to be dominant and not let anyone know that these people existed. Humans are one of the worse species in the world, why? We kill for any and all reasons and we do not know our own strength. We are the reason for all of the world's problems. Come on, look at us. Look at how much damage we humans have done. We do not deserve this world or any world for that matter. We are too dangerous. All of the other animals in the world look at us with fear because we are so damn powerful. Global Warming, humans, Extinct species of animals that had existed since man has been around, humans, over population, humans, material and resource usage that is beyond gluttony, humans. We are the problem.

I'm not certain I would equate "religion" with "God." Human beings have surely benefited by believing that there is a God and encapsulating that belief in their religion. Strong believers will fight all the harder against those they consider infidels, and this heightened effort may increase the chances that their genes will be passed on. However, even if "religion" can bring about an evolutionary advantage, it doesn't mean that "God" exists or doesn't exist.

Ironic question. Before man could conceptualize beyond the self, it seems pretty impossible for religion to exist, and maybe even god. I mean, what is a god that has no followers? Of course, many religious people will deny the existance of evolution and to them the question will be moot.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't superstition a form of religion, in that there is something in which to be afraid, a taboo?
If so, then there has been documented proof that various tribes have seemed to share similar beliefs.
So I don't think evolution has anything to do with it. I think, it is just human nature to hold someone else to blame or accountable.

Evolution is a blessing not a curse, God has always been out there, and humanity believe in god not because they are thank full to be here but because religion has made them desire eternal life.

No, evolution is a man made reason to avoid belief in God.
God created the universe and everything in it, including you and I.
