Values = An ideal accepted by some individual or group

I'd say that morals is what everyone believes is morally wrong or right. For instance, is stealing wrong or right? That is a moral question. More like philosophy of life. Values on the other hand is what you have. It can be great values or bad values. Caring persona, loving, honest, etc is considered great values, it is what you have instilled within yourself to show to the world. Nevertheless, both values and morals is what makes a person who they truely are.

"Values" is short for "The values that someone considers
important". That is, someone might value truth, or money
or those little plastic wedges used to hold doors open.

"Morals" indicate a code of behavior, perhaps somewhat
based on a person's values. One acts morally be adhering
to that code of behavior.

Of course, if the observer doesn't happen to agree with the
code of behavior, he might (in my opinion) mistakingly say
that the person who follows it is being immoral.

Many people confuse Morality (which applies to the behavior)
to Religion (which applies to the reason for the behavior).
Indeed, one's religion probably (hopefully) is the reason one
might have certain values.

However, in my opinion one can be pretty moral without
having any religion. One can prefer to not kill and be an
athiest at the same time.

Does any of that make sense? People tend to use the
words recklessly - which is how words change meaning
over time.

For instance "Cop" used to be a derogatory epithet towards
the police. Now, however, police frequently refer to themselves
as "cops" and the term is now just an informal reference.

They were both created by religion. They are the same thing. You know the whole burn in eternal hellfire if you don't have these morals or the same values as my religion.

I stick to human ethics which is almost the same as morals but you don't go to hell. They may have been inspired by morals, but they don't expect you to pretend there is a god.

Values are what you treasure and see as having a meaning to you (you may value your parents or pets for example) and morals are your laws or codes of ethics (The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" or the Surgeons or Physicians Code: "First do no harm") .

Values are beliefs of a person in which they have an emotional investment, such as honesty, respectfulness, responsibility

Morals are motivation based on ideas of right and wrong, such as always look before you leap

Values are what you have in a situation, morals are what you get from a situation.

Values are guides or principles you live by. Morals are defining actions as right or wrong, no grey area. The trouble with moralists is they become guilt ridden & paralyzed because no one can live up to their expectations.
