Considering they took a lot of our symbols and festivals and ideas should they not be considered the Neo-Pagans because they took the crux of Pagan beliefs and mixed them up a bit with guilt and made it monotheistic ?
Personally I DETEST being referred to as a Neo-Pagan as me beliefs are hardly new.

Well Meg, you have Eostre and Yule. Cakes and wine offering were replaced by wafers and wine, the triple goddess has been replaced by the holy trinity

As a psych important and a pagan i will with a touch success say Bull ****. Many pagan paths are based around community, no be counted if on line or in actual existence. i understand Heathens are. a chum of mine as quickly as pronounced that the only excuse a Heathen has for no longer training with different Heathens is that there are not any with a one hundred mile radius. I shuttle just about an hour to my gothi's for fellowship and that i do no longer suggestions interior the least. it is totally worth it to me. to no longer point out this man or woman needless to say has no seen what anti-social habit is. Anti-social character disease is the technical call for a sociopath. I heavily doubt we are all sociopaths. i'm the norm of society. At this right 2nd i'm sitting at my approximately to be step-uncles lake domicile after an afternoon of tubing and knee boarding mutually as my 3 young ones watch Blue's Clue's 0.5 asleep. I stress an SUV and stay interior the agricultural suburbs of Dallas Texas. i'm in knit gouchoes and a tank suitable. the only think of that "says" i'm pagan in my necklace, a Mjolinir. My daughter is a cheerleader and a woman scout. heavily....supply me a wreck.

Yes, I completely agree with you!

The thing is, Paganism wasn't a religion, it was belief, kind of like Atheism. It's only been recently that Paganism was turned into a religion. So, it's kind of gone through a re-vamping of sorts. But you're right, it's hardly new. The packaging is just different, that's all.

No, I wouldn't parallel the two. Jesus was basically pagan but since they tied his teachings to the evil, revengeful god of the Old Testament, Christians aren't anywhere close to pagan beliefs of self-responsibility, honoring nature, etc.

LoL. Interesting way to think of it... yes. I guess you could say that. I mean... Christmas time (the tree, the time of year, etc), Easter (Eoster, the bunny, the colored eggs, etc)
Then you have the Saints.. (ie. Brigid, a celtic goddess turned Saint).

Look at it this way, people can label you however they want. You know who you are... and it isn't the label. It's you. Just leave it at that.
