Your chest will tighten, you will become afraid for no reason that you can see, the notion to flee will be over powering. Once I realized what it was, made my self breathe and knew it would pass shortly life got better. That and lots of therapy :)

Drink a lot of water (one or two glasses staight down) if you feel one coming on and it will stop it. You will feel completely normal in about 2 minutes.

I had panic attacks for years until I figured out the water trick. It is an all out life saver. Drink water all day long and you'll never have another one again, I am not kidding. I wondered why it worked and I looked online and hyperventilation is a symptom of dehydration.
Caffiene is a dehydrator, alcohol is a dehydratory, salt, sodium, msg....etc... If something you eat has over 30 % salt for a serving, it can trigger a panic attack everytime. Good luck

I can tell you this because I have, I believe, had one.. due to some medication I was taking. My heart started racing, my mouth was very dry,.. my doctor told me it's so intense, you may feel like you are going to die. Personally, I was having a hard time standing, but I'm not sure if that is a symptom or not. Believe me.. you'll know if you have had a panic attack! it's extreme.

Unfortunately, these and other anxieties run in our family:

1 - feel like you cannot swallow
2 - begin to sweat
3 - shortness of breath
4 - chest and left arm pain
5 - can't see clearly

Sometimes they are so bad that you feel as though you are having a heart attack.

Sweating,
Feel like you are going to die,

Panic,
Heart Beat rising,
Shortness of Breath,
Feeling out of control.

Dont worry; it is only a panic attack; it will go away; but it is really scary when it happens.

Usually starts off in the stomach area, then the chest tightens, your hands might feel tingly and you might even start to black out. You might feel weepy and start crying even though you don't feel like crying. You might have trouble breathing. The worst cases involve all of these, and my mom has had them. I've had bad ones, but I didn't black out.....I was spared that.

your breathing will become shorter and harder. Sometimes your vision will blur but you just have to try and steady your breathing. It'll pass :)
