If this 4 year old is a male - then you never get him to stop farting in public! I think men are wired to be disgusting and gross, even in public. If this is a girl we're talking about, I'm not quite sure, but I just assumed you were talking about a boy because they're known for that.

Have a great night and good luck with that!

I'm assuming this is a boy.... Make sure that everyone around him gets the idea that you're teaching your child manners. Everyone has to be on the same sheet of music here. Now, I have two ideas to try. First, ignore it. If people are laughing, and if you keep getting on his case, then he'll keep doing it for the attention. Just ignore it, and have everyone around him ignore it. That means no cute "oh my goodness,_________!" and may mean developing the scathing look for strangers to shut them up when they laugh. If your child is a girl, this a great time to remind her of how ladies act in public. Second, if someone looks horrendously offended, or even if they don't, apologize to them on the behalf of your "pig of a child." If you turn the embarrassment on him, and away from yourself, the behavior will change. It stops being funny when it makes him feel bad. It'll take some time, but just have some faith. One day he'll be a teenager with a girlfriend. Or she'll have a boyfriend.

Don't tell your child they are bad for passing gas, everyone does it!!! And who cares if they do it in public, people will understand that they are a child and that's the kind of things that children do. If you try to tell your kid not to do that, they are going to get some really bad pains and might even start worrying what other people think of them, and you don't want them to do that so early on do you? The answer to this one is out with the old, in with the new!!! LET THAT CHILD FART!!!

You can't , really. Later on in life he will be embarassed to fart in public, so the problem will take care of itself. Don't call attention to it or make a big deal out of it. That way, youare being polite to hima nd teaching him good manners. If he is laughing and doing it to be funny, he need sto know it is rude. Once again, if he gets no attention from farting, he will not see any reason to make a big deal out of it. Just ignore it.

Wow, kind of going through this with my 3.5 year old! Instead he's been loudly burping, then laughing loudly about it and pointing it out to everyone. In order to curb the behavior we have been sternly reminding him to excuse himself and that it isn't appropriate. But don't make a big deal about it. Any sort of attention will encourage the behavior whether it is positive or negative.

There is no problem here. Farting in public is normal.
Getting him to spend more time with kids his own age will solve the problem on its own. Do you have him in preschool or a Montessori? By watching others his own age, and their reaction to what he does, he will stop it.

perhaps you will possibly desire to sign right here up for some grooming and edict training. sounds like your lady chum lacks type. i'm sorry yet i are conscious of it extremely is a actual function we are all born with yet come on its basically undeniable disgusting. there's a place for each little thing, umm like a bathing room. tell right here it bothers you. or maybe you will possibly desire to snatch your crouch every time she farts, and that i propose extremely grab it, see how she likes to be disrespected. Sorry yet your lady chum sounds like a real pig...i will no longer be able to recover from how she's cool with making herself look like something out a farm backyard. i individually do no longer propose to insult any cattle. They a minimum of do no longer understand any further useful....

If he is doing it on purpose, then he needs to be told not to, and don't give him too much attention (even negative attention), but create a small "punishment" for it (an hour of no TV, something small like that).

If he is NOT doing it on purpose, then he may have a medical problem. Pay attention to his diet: make sure he is eating plenty of fiber like whole wheat, cornbread, fruits, vegetables, things like that.... so he won't be constipated. Farting is often caused by constipation, and maybe he can't help it.

its a natural thing. Kids at the age of 4 are not modest in the least. Still at a young age, they dont quite understand. Once your child matures more he/she will be more understanding. Right now it just feels good to them to let it "rip".

Stop feeding the child foods that cause gas. Feed the child decent meals for crying out loud
