I think the choice of soda is crucial... my favorite is Mug Root Beer. Dairy Queen uses Barq's Root Beer, but it has caffeine. My favorite ice cream... French Vanilla. When making the float, try two or three scoops of the ice cream in your glass. Then slowly pour the root beer over the ice cream until you see some foam. Then stop pouring on the ice cream, and let the root beer slowly go down the side of the glass until filled. Delicious!

Any will do. I like plain vanilla and Coke. Put two scoops in a tall glass, then slowly pour in the soda.

I put in two big scoops of vanilla ice cream and then pour in diet or regular coke. I normally use diet though because i dont like the taste of regular. then i add a straw and a spoon and eat/drink up!
