Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
1st: piece of fruit
2nd: string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
3rd: bowl of cereal
4th: soup/sandwich
5th: a good dinner-meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
6th: salad/raw veggies
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Do daily simple exercise like walking/hiking...swimming and biking are low impact, playing games like basketball, baseball, volleyball will tone your body and you'll have fun doing it.

Monavie...you can either get the Active or Non-Active formula. It increases energy, decreases appetite and between those two things alone you will do more and eat less. More moving around and more energy means burning calories. Less intake of food means your body will have to go and convert energy from the stores of fat deposits in the body and results in lost weight. There are no stimulants in this drink...I'm two month into it and lost 10 lbs without any change in excercise...
One other reason it works is most likely due to the anti-oxidants stored in the juices...you will get a rush of energy but it's not a caffeine buzz. It's a clarifying clease and makes your mind and body open and functional. There are so many of my patients taking this stuff now I should become a distributor!! Good luck and don't try any quick result type diet that will render you fatigued. Feel free to write me should you need more info or go to Monavie.com!

Last New Years Day I decided that I was going to do whatever it took to lose weight. So I went on a High Carb Diet (Cereal Diet) I ate three bowls of cereal a day and nothing else. I also did 2 hours of cardio at least five days a week. I took one day on the weekend and did nothing and ate whatever I wanted. 2 hours of cardio sounds like a lot but break it down like the following and eventually you will work up to doing that much cardio in a day. In the morning I did an hour of cardio on an elliptical machine broken down into 2 30 minute sessions with a 15 minute break in between. I went home and went back to the gym in the afternoon and did the same thing. I went from 283 to 193 in almost five months. I was losing weight at a rate of 20.3 pounds a month, 5 pounds a week. I ran into a couple of plateaus but they didnt last long. But what I like about a high carb diet versus a low carb one is that carbs give you energy so you can stand to do more exercising without feeling tired. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Unless you have really strong will-power, some kind of external support is a must. Personal trainer for the rich, dietician if your medical plan covers it, weightwatchers meetings (cheap, and effective) or dieting with a friend or a group at work.
I've actually managed to keep my weight down for two years now using the online version of weightwatchers. You have to be really honest about what you are eating, and your weekly weigh-in - it's easier to lie to yourself online than when attending meetings. But you do need something like that to motivate you.

There is a diet that I have that you do for 3 days it gives you exact directions and meals that you would normally eat ! I guaruntee if you follow the directions that you will lose 8-10 pounds in those 3 days. It doesn't involve exercise just diet. I don't have it with me but I will have it tomorrow I can post it then. It isn't one of those starve you to death diets it's really good for you and its the combination of foods that it has that really increases your metabolism so you burn lots of fat.

Wow. What a great story, except for the part about your dog. I lost my Scottish Terrier to cancer 5 weeks ago. She was my best friend. 23 lbs in 1 month is amazing. Sounds like you're onto something. I say good for you. I have been thinking about eliminating meat from my diet. I could live without it easily. It's definitely over-rated. I think I'll try it too. Thanks!

I eat several meals a day in smaller portions which consist of protein, starch and vegetables. I also drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. I am steadily losing 3 lbs a week.

Develop Narcolepsy. Then they put you on Amphetamines. Your appetite will not level out for 6 months or more.
