No - the people I know in real life are mostly quite sane, and atheists of course - I only encounter religious nutters on the net (and occasionally in the media). When your friends, family and colleagues are virtually all non-religious it comes as a bit of a shock to find out just how mired in superstition and ignorance some people still are, even in supposedly civilised parts of the world.

No not really. I know that their are more intellectual people out there as well as sane ones if they could only use their brains and practice common sense.
