It''s an age old battle over whose land is whose - God promised all of Canaan to Abraham and Isaac - but Ishmael did not care for this promise as it pushed him into what we know as the Asia's - so, the battle is ever fought between half-brothers descendants as to the claim of land. It's no great secret and comes from no hidden source - it's well versed in the Bible and gives clear explanation as to why the fight, and the promise that both brothers would have land - Ishmael just wanted Isaac's portion - simple sibling rivalry!
