First, you should set an alarm so you don't sleep that much during daytime. Start setting it for about 2PM [you should have already slept about 9-hours by then]; every day set it for a shorter period of time, about half an hour earlier each day. As you get up earlier, your body will gradually adjust itself to feel an urge to sleep earlier, too. You may also try some OTC sleep aid like Tylenol PM or Unisomn. Get a warm shower or bath before hitting the bed; as you get out of the bath, your body temperature will drop, which also primes you to sleep. Keep the room dark and cool, and your bed made up neatly, with clean, fresh linen and a comfortable pillow. Avoid caffeinated drinks like coffee, sodas and tea after 5PM. If none of these measures seems to help, see your doctor for further advise and/or treatment, maybe a prescription for one of the newer, safer sleep aids like Lunesta. Good luck, sweet dreams, and hope that my advice has been of help.

Are you pregnant? I'm just asking because sometimes people put things in the wrong category. If you are, I can give you a few ideas other than medicine

OK, you say you are a mom to be in your description. Do you have a maternity pillow? They are the length of your body and you can lay on your side and put the pillow under your belly, between your legs, whatever is comfy. I loved mine! Good idea to take a warm (not hot) bath. Try to stay up during the day, take shorter naps. Try reading before you go to bed, while you are in bed. Good luck!

Try Melatonin. Its the hormone your body is supposed to be producing to make you tired at night. You have probably just fallen into a habit over the summer and need to retrain yourself. Melatonin is safe and natural and cheap. You can get it at Wal-mart for $3.00 - $5.00 . Also it wears off in like 4 or 5 hours and you dont feel tired the next day.

Be careful how much caffeine you are drinking, and when you drink it. That might actually be the only thing that's keeping you awake. Coffee, tea, cola, Dr. Pepper, even sometimes orange sodas, and also chocolate has caffeine. Sometimes, headache medicines also have it (like Excedrin). Look at the labels of whatever you are consuming a lot of. CAFFEINE can really be a problem. After NOON, do not drink any of it. Drink water instead, it's very good for you.

Sesame seeds from the health food store are one of the best sources of natural usable calcium. 2 Tablespoons before bedtime will help you get the rest you need. Also, if you will talk with God before you even try to sleep and put all your burdens on him, knowing that he will take care of them, you will not have to carry the mental anxieties of the day into the night.

Take Tylenol p.m. I works great. Do not have alot of caffeine in a day especially at night before bed. Take a hot bath, read a book and relax.

Have you tried to read a book at night? I know if I read at night and I'm a little tired it gets me ready for bed after a 5-6 pages of reading.

Try seeing a doctor, you may have "noctema". I don't think i spelled that right, but that is when you can't sleep at night but can sleep thru the day like its nothing. My cousin has that, and doc gave her a prescription, and its helped her out quite a bit.
