Is is so significant if Adam and Eve had a bellybutton that it is essential to your faith in God or not? This is the greater question. So many questions asked on Y.A. overlook the greater essence of God - and that is what matters? His son - acceptance of his son as the only means of salvation and therefore the only means to heaven. The presence or lack thereof in regards to belly buttons does not affect the soul, and the soul is what is so desperately needing our attention in this day and age. It's not to say your answer doesn't merit answering - no, Adam nor Eve, would have had need of a belly button - they were directly created - however, Cain, Abel, Seth, and their other children would have each had belly buttons as they would have derived their nourishment from Eve while she carried them in the womb.

I really laughed at this one. It is funny, and I believe in God and have great reverence for him. But,it does require some thought. I would guess that they did have a belly-button,because they are pretty. I know they weren't born, and had no umbilical cord, but God made them perfect in every way. I think they would look odd otherwise. But,it really doesn't matter at all.

Here's my thought on the matter.
You would think that because Adam and Eve were created that they would not have one. Obviously, they weren't born like us.
On the other hand, why would God make them different from us so to speak? Since we each have a bellybotton, even if they were created, should have one, right?

Adam nor Eve had a belly button. The belly button is actually a scar of where the umbilical cord was attached, and niether Adam or Eve were born of woman.

Who? God or Adam?
Adam: Well, if you believe thatkind of thing, God could have created him however he jolly well pleased, couldn't he have? I mean, provided there was enough clay...
God: Doubtful. Although much of Christianity could be described as navel-gazing, so maybe you're right.

I don't think that you can actually study that... I'd suggest using a currently nonexistent time machine, or you could go ask God himself... don't expect a coherent answer, though, he never uses actual words but rather other ways of communication that you'll probably never notice anyway.

No umbilical cord, no belly button.
Since they were both created, there was no mother to be connected to.
