Most dogs see shoving your face into theirs with staring eyes, and then opening your mouth to blow, without showing your back teeth (if you did show your back teeth you'd be indicating fear) to be a sign of agression. Some dogs will back down, but others will not. So if you want your nose bitten off (a dog is more than capable of doing this) then keep blowing the dog, stupid a*se. Also, don't let your dog stick it's head out of the window at 30 mph. If a fly or bit of grit hits him in the eye, he'll probably lose it.

My dog and I play a game where I blow in his ears and he rubs his face with his paws and pokes me in the eye with his nose and finally sticks his head in my armpit and tickles me. Then we laugh about it. However I have known dogs who get angry when someone does it to them but mostly it is a result of them being teased constantly by someone blowing in thier ear and not in a plaful way. I have met only one dog who doesnt react whatsoever to you blowing in his ear, he is a pitty mix and you could blow until you are blue in the face and he wont react he willl just look right at you and keep trying to lick you. I think the reason they dont get annoyed doing it in a car is because 1. it is fresh air full of interesting scents that outweighs the discomfort of wind in the ears. 2 it may not the same effect as the wind is rushing past thier ears and not directly into them from right angles 3 your breath doesnt smell nearly as interesting as the scent laden breeze rushing past the car. 4. not all dogs like sticking thier head out the windows my dogs both refuse to do it and also get annoyed when you blow in thier ear although it is a game between us and not "doginese wind in the ear torture"...lol

If you blow in a dogs ear you are sending a sharp rush of direct air into the poor little things ear but when they are in the car they are "catching a breeze" therefore it doesn't cause any discomfort.

Many dogs feel threatened if you put your face in close range to theirs. That might be the problem when you blow in the dogs ear.
