Use- drinking alcohol at all. To drink it means you are using it. Hopefully you are doing this mildly.

Abuse- drinking alcohol until you puke. Not keeping it in a social context.

Dependency- can't live without it.....literally. Your body becomes dependent on having it and goes through withdrawal when you abstain from it.

having a few beers at a party...


alcohol abuse is:

not being about to just have a few beers
at a party......you have to get drunk....

alcohol dependency is:

you need a few beers just to be
normal. you have to drink...or you feel sick.

Alcohol Use: You use it occasionally i.e. parties, weekends

Abuse: You use to get away from your problems

Dependency: You have to have alcohol just to survive each day

alcohol use can be just social drinking....abuse is when you drink to "get drunk"...dependency is when you feel as if you can't function with out it....

Use is having one drink.
Abuse is needing more than one drink.
Dependency is needing nothing more than alcohol.
