Everyone sins and most sins are equal in severity. The one sin which God will not forgive, however, is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. In order to understand what that is, you must understand that Holy Spirit is the revealer of TRUTH. So, therefore, if you (a person) understand the TRUTH about God and his purpose and his son, Jesus Christ, etc. and then you lie to someone about it intentionally, God will not forgive you. It is basically like attempting to commit spiritual suicide and cost someone else their eternal life.
