I have dark brown hair, almost black naturaly. I tried deep red highlights and they turned pink. I go to a reputable stylist and use salon products. When asking about it, my stylist said it was quite common! I would stay away from the red and try caramels and different shades of browns. Much safer and I bet they would look great!

Honestly, I'd start with dark and light browns to give your hair a subtle color texture. Then if you're feeling bold, add some red. Too bright and its less of a highlight and more of a skunk streak.

It probably would, but if you want the colors to be really noticeable, you'll either have to get it professionally done, or bleach the parts first. It's like coloring: you can't color red over black, but you can color red of yellow.

i don't think burgandy/red is the best choice, i would say more of a light brown or in between brown and blonde.

Burgandy because its not too loud, but red would over do it.

Definitely get it professionally done, else you run the risk of frying your hair. Bleach is very harsh, especially if you're inexperienced with it.
