Depends what you want to do... If you want to stay focussed on the technical aspects of engineering - not much good. If you wish to further develop your management skills and career, then it is a great foundation. Don't expect it to be a ticket to management and a big salary though!!
Yes it is fairly normal these days too...

It is very common for an Engineer to have an MBA. If you want to move beyond the technical aspect of engineering into the operations side, you will need one. Also, if you stay in engineering long enough, you may be pushed into a management role, an MBA would be helpful here too. If you are not sure, seek out an grad program that combines an MSE and an MBA - they are out there.

Engineers with MBAs are extremely useful if you want to expand your career. MBAs are great to move into Project Management, personnel management, and higher levels of technical leadership. What engineers are never taught, and most never get, is at the end of the day everything they do is to make money. So having an MBA makes you doubly powerful. Who would you rather have leading up a major engineering project? Some business weeny? Or an engineer with an MBA?

I am an engineer with an MBA. Was a breeze for me. You'll find it really easy. After the math we sweat at engineering college, marketing principles and economics are child's play. Only you have to sweat for the assignments though.. and persevere...
But didn't get me a promotion though.
