No sounds like they hit a nerve. Hopefully the feeling will come back before long. Sometimes nerve damage is temporary. :-)

Some how I think that what is NORMAL is being mixed up here.
Unless I am really out of touch with reality and nature, as best as I can remember, lips support speech (Can not talk without them),
eating (very limited diet without them), and to support one of natures very popular interest, human physical contact with each other.

No where can I find any reference to nature supporting sticking holes in our lips!

Why is it that when we are lucky enough to be born healthy, (Just consider all the ugly things that nature does to some people, joined at the head, brain out side the skull, mental and physical disorders, spinal issues, tumors covering the whole face and so on), the best we can do is try to distorted ourselves because we do not feel that we ARE BEAUTIFUL, the way nature made us?

From my experience this is normal for the first few days. If it continues however I would go see a doc. She also might want to put some ice on it to decrease the swelling.

Doesn't sound good. Why anyone would want their lip pierced is beyond me, it's not even attractive or cool, and not to mention your lip could get infected, which wouldn't be a fun thing to happen.
