Well usually it's the guys job 2 ask the girl out but I would ask him on the phone or write him a note.

How (i.e. what means) you do it doesn't matter too much- in person, by phone, etc.
I think I would just be straightforward and make it simple... "Do you want to go out?" works, but that might be too bold for me to get the words out. So, you could always try thinking of something you specifically want to do (see a movie, try somewhere new to eat, etc.) and then just ask the guy if he wants to do it... "Do you want to go see ____ (name of movie) with me?"
Oh, by the way. Most people still see it as the guy's job, but this is ridiculous. If you like him, make the move! I know plenty of guys (myself included) that would love that!

don't tell him righ away, just ask him what is he going to do tonight, perhaps he don't want to go out with you, and like that you give him a chance to say no before you burn yourself by asking him out, and if he is free, just tell him that you were thinking of going to the movies or something like that.

guys like tings simple and direct. just ask him. but be prepared for the question after he says yes, "Sure, where you wanna go?"

Call him and tell him where you want to go and what you want to do. Tell him you need an escort and want him to be your escort. Even if he does not go out with you, I guarantee you that he will be extremely!!!!!!!! flattered that you asked.
