OMG what you have is a super hyper breed crossed with an even more super hyper breed!!!!
you NEED to take her to obedience classes! not only do you have two of the more hyper dogs bred into your dog, you have two of the most intelligent dogs bred onto your cute mutt.
she will no doubt learn fast, and LOVE IT!
aussies, and border collies..are EXCELLENT at agility training, field trials and things like that.
research the two breeds, find out what they were bred for. (herding).
training is KEY with this type of mix breed. she'll be a whole different dog once training begins and you will be amazed at how fast and how WELL she will mind you.

It depends on the dog. Some breeds don't do obedience very well. My Shiba Inu, for example, will NEVER be allowed off leash. Most Shibas are this way. They have a powerful urge to see what's over the next hill.
Otherwise, dog trainers recommend training your dog for this with a really long leash, like 20 ft long. Let the dog go, then call it. If it doesn't come on it's own, reel it in and praise it. Repeat several times a day until the dog comes every time. THis worked for my sheltie.

The fact that she is a cross breed has no bearing on this problem. She just wants to run around and have some fun....you know, be a dog. If you want to correct this behavior, you can try something that I have. Rather than getting one of those invisible fence systems that you have to bury underground, I went with a system that allow a certain distance away from the transmitter unit. My neighborhood has no fences, and I was having a problem with my dogs chasing wild rabbits. We put a collar on them, and once they reach about 100 feet from the base unit, they get an electric shock from the collar (adjustable shock levels). Trust me, they learn quickly, and don't test the "border" anymore, and we only had to set the collar on about 70% strength.

All dogs will run. It depends a lot on if she is spayed or not. It also has something to do with how young she is. Keep her on the leash. There's lot of places where you can buy a runner to chain her to so she can run but stay safe. when she gets older she will be less prone to running off. But make sure her shots are up to date and I'd get her tagged by your vet(chipped or tatooed) so if someone picks her up they can call you.

Don't. Put your dog on a chain. No matter how well trained your dog is, if it sees a small pack of other dogs running loose, it will run to join them.

Her being a mix breed has nothing to do with that.
Try carrying her fave treat and telling her to come. Firmly.
