Okay, is this an old wive's tale? that if you just let the mosquito bite you, it will have time to inject a "numbing agent" so you're bite will not be as itchy, etc. ????

They always inject a numbing agent, even when your not coaxing it into sucking your blood. They're really good at what they do, they have been around since dinosaur times. The reason it's itchy is because of the mucus that they leave behind. So whether they have time or not, you'll never feel when they bite you, only the after-effects.

the numbing agent you're talking about is more like saliva, it doesn't numb it makes you itch. sounds like someone is jerking your chain
