I hate my name?

It's Evelyn. I think it sounds old-fashioned. What do you think? I wouldn't go so far as to change it but I just hate it.

Yea but my middle name would be hard to pronounce by people who don't speak spanish. It's Mariella, pronounced Mah-ree-elle-ah

It's definitely old fashioned, but when you're older you'll probably appreciate the fact that you don't have a really young sounding name or something like Tiffany (no offense to any Tiffanys out there). You could always nickname Evie or Eve. Even Eva.

Try shortening it to Eve or Lyn or Evy or Eva, and so on... Or try changing the pronunciation to something that sounds better to you. Maybe "eev-lin" or something like that.

I actually really like the name Evelyn. It sounds very pretty to me. I was actually planning on naming my first daughter "Eve Linden" (for various reasons), and Evelyn sounds really close to that.

I used to think my name (Cynthia, obviously) sounded really old fashioned, but I actually like it a lot now. Good luck.

You should love your name and be proud of it. It's who you are and the name your parents gave you. Would you want your child to tell you they hate their name and planning going to change it? I know it would hurt my feelings!

You should go by Mari. That's a cute name. If you don't like Mari then I guess you're "Jodida"

it is old fashioned so you don't hear it much, that makes it unique. try a nick name like eve or evie or lyn.
