there are a few, certain songs that i ABSOLUTELY adore...they just sound SO good to me, SO much better than 99% of the stuff i hear and i wonder if the underlying beats or something are similar in all of them and that's why they appeal to me...is there a way to check? could that ever help me find other songs i would love? i'm an art person, i know nothing about music...is there any research or programs that investigate this kind of thing?

well, i like most of the songs i like because the lyrics mean somthing to me, or they bring me back to where i was when that song as popular. Other songs, and seletions of music move me becasue the assebly of instuments is so moving, the sounds of the indivisual instuments harmonizing in a particuliar way is "music to my ears" !
