I am going to Shanghai in August. I hear they have pirated DVD's for sale. What do they have for example? Are they good quality? Can you find some in English?

beware, my friend has just come back to uk from shanghai and bought back a big box of dvd's he brought from many different people, out of 50 only ten can be watched, theothers were so bad quality or no sound, blurred, too dark or just in the wrong language ( e.g. not in english or cantonese)and no subtitles when itstates that it has

most dvds are pretty good quality. there's some cheap ones, then there's good ones.

most pirated films are english films, in english.

i was told customs might confiscate the american films and fine you. foreign films go through ok.
