By junk food, I mean packaged food like cookies/crackers, candy, drinks and the like.

I check the date most of the time, because even though it's rare for junk food to go bad it can. I know I have had a couple of bad experiances with bad junk food.

No reason to check expiration date as most junk food has so much artificial ingredients and preservatives that they will probably last forever.

YES!!!!!!!!! Dear Lord I will never forget the time my parents didn't and we were on a road trip with WAY expired Ding Dongs!!

The outside was ok, but the middle filling was that weblike mold.. UUuggggg....

I always check.. Never so grossed out in my life to have eaten part of a normally good snack.

Amazingly no. I obsessively check the expiration dates on everything else though (like milk, yogurt, cheese, meat, condiments, etc) However i will throw it out if it's been sitting on the shelf for more than 3 weeks.

NO NOT REALLY...BUT IF YOU ARE A PERSON THAT WORRIES ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING YOU PUT IN YOU OR YOUR KIDS MOUTH THAN I CAN SEE DOING IT ON THE JUNK FOOD...BUT JUNK FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE IS NO GOOD FOR YOU SO WORRY ABOUT THE EXPIRATION DATES.....JUST EAT ALL THOSE GOODIES..........

YES! Quiznos is notorious for trying to push expired (like by 5 or 6 months) chips.

The taste may not be affected, since it is a prepared product, but still....

yes i would i check everything i eat, considering i am a health inspector the army i just am picky and received a bad habit of food inspections

Yes because ingredients can cause you to have a stomach ache if they become too old or rancid
