I know its an urban myth but is it true? Please be mature when you answer this guestion.

I'm yellow (Asian) and I've been mellow all my life and no sexual slow down here... It's urban legend. The only thing true about Mello Yellow is that it has the most caffeine of the soft drinks, about 50% more than Coke.

i thinks its the dye called "yellow 5 or 9" i know its in Mountian dew and mellow yellow as well as pretty much everything else to drink that is not original color, it is true, but the amount needed to slow down your sex drive is approximatly a gallon straight of yellow 5. so unless you drink like 15-20 gallons of soda each day you shouldnt experince any side effects

I've heard something like that. That it is in mountain dew, mellow yellow, and Doritos, but it was just a high school myth as far as I know...

yes, yellow #5 shrinks your testicles, makes your erections last way shorter, makes them weaker, and makes you hyperactive/twitchy and unable to sleep. Look at the ingredients of all the foods/drinks in your house. You'd be surprised how many of them contain yellow #5. Be careful on how much you drink/eat.

That is in reference to "yellow no.5" an ingredient used to pigment the soda, but had been clinically proven to lower sperm count in men. The amounts it takes to acheive this, I am not certain.

Yellow 5, is in it, just like in mountain dew. It is just a myth i think.

You know, I heard that Mountain Dew does that to you...or it lowers your sperm count...I don't know about Mellow Yellow

THE YELLOW #5 THAT THEY USE TO COLOR IT DOES HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS WOULD SALT PETER THAT YOU FIND IN BEEF JERKY...YOU WOULD HAVE TO CONSUME ALOT BEFORE IT WOULD EFFECT THE SEX ORGAN...DON'T WORRY MY BOY THE OLD PETER WILL STILL WORK TONIGHT..........
