In line with the previous answer, gotta keep lifting weights and maintain muscle mass. Cardio and regular exercise can take the weight off, but weight training is necessary to maintain strength. Free weights may be best because they work stabilizing muscles as well as major muscle groups.

There is always a chance of losing muscle mass while burning fat. For that reason, it's best to include some sort of weight training while you lose weight - it will in fact help you burn fat quicker anyway. Also, even if you diet, make sure you're still getting plenty of protein.

If you lose weight and don't work-out, you will not get strong. If you lose weight and work-out, you will get toned.

Weight is not in muscle, it is in fat. Lose weight, and lift weights and you gain strength.

if you are losing fat and not muscle. most diets lose
equal parts muscle and when you gain it back you gain
fat. be sure to exercise and to diet only with healthful
whole foods.

If you exercise and gain muscle then you'll be strong, if you watch your food intake and fat intake you'll lose fat.
