Running is an excellent exercise, but it is very hard on the body. With running you can expect knee pain, back pain, and blisters in weird places (other than your feet). Make sure you have good shoes. When you finish running, you pour sweat for 15 minutes.
Walking is not as good of an exercise (it's good, but not as efficient as running), but it is much easier to do. You can walk anywhere at anytime with any flat, comfortable shoe. When you finish walking, you're not sweaty.

A nice fast walk is the best exercise you can do. Running can be hard on your limbs and muscles, especially if you are just starting out. A nice fast walk can keep you in shape, take the pounds off and make you feel great!

Walking is better on your joints and such. Running is great and burns more calories ect, but you can almost do just as much just walking. Running can be really hard on your joints. I would walk unless you were training for a run.

I have heard that if you are a woman it is better to walk. We tend to have more problems with "things" getting knocked around or loosened up too much when running. It's really hard on the joints.

completely depends on what your goals are....they both have pros and cons. running is cardio, it gets your heart rate up while also working your muscles. walking is great too, but not so much for strengthening your cardiovascualr system. obviously a better choice if you have weak knees or anything like that...running puts a ton of pressure on the joints, especially on sidewalks.

I think walking is because it's not as hard as running is on your joints.

depending on your age or medical conditions, running. walking can help you lose weight, but things like biking or running have a bigger impact on things like weight, cholesterol, etc.
running can put stress on your joints depending on how fast you're going, but staying active is better for your joints than doing nothing.
if you're older or you, say, have a severe heart condition, i wouldn't overdo it and go with walking.

If you are old, walk.
If you are young, run some, walk some.
